PET scan day

Here is the PET scan machine...it's a big trailer just outside the hospital and is specifically for cancer.
Elizabeth gets an IV contrast injection and also has to drink some contrast. She said the taste isn't bad when she drinks it, but she just dreads it because she knows she'll be sick. We know from past experience that she'll usually be throwing up after all the contrast she's had put in her body. 😝😔 I can't be in there with her during the scan, so I sit just a few feet away inside the hospital and I can see the machine out the window next to my chair for about 50 minutes while they run the test. Elizabeth said the scan isn't too bad, but when I asked her to explain it she said that they strap your arms and legs to the "bed" and you get a pillow, but no music or shows. (I'm glad she thinks it's not too bad...sounds crummy to me, but this girl isnt a complainer.) The worst part is that we don't get results for a few days.

I am working so hard to focus on Christ and put my trust in God's plan for us. When it feels like too much (like today) I remind myself that Elizabeth was Heavenly Father's daughter before He sent her our family and she is just as precious to Him as she is to us. (I know more precious even, somehow in a way we can't comprehend.) I have faith that Elizabeth will feel the strengthening power of Christ's atonement and angels are with her always through this incredible trial. I have been reading the story of Moses in the Old Testament in the first several chapters as Exodus and I am inspired by the stories that illustrate God's incredible miracles...from the saving as Moses as an infant, to his leading the children of Israel out of captivity and providing food and water in the wilderness, it is powerful evidence that God is in the details of our life. We can trust in His goodness. Our hearts and prayers go out, especially, to those dear cancer families that we love who are walking a similar path, but I can't close any of these posts without telling you that we are praying for you too. We know that many suffer quietly, often with unseen burdens. Christ is the answer. Thank you, thank you for all the love, support, and prayers. We couldn't do this without you!
